Recreation Community Gardens program invites the public to a free Community Seed Share at Turner Roberts Recreation Center.
Austin Parks and Recreation Community Gardens program invites the public to a free Community Seed Share on Saturday, September 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Turner Roberts Recreation Center, 7201 Colony Loop Dr.
The event features a lecture on local climate-adapted crop varieties, a seed swap, cooking demonstrations, and seed saving workshops. Educational content will be offered in both English and Spanish, and seed saving handouts will be available in English, Spanish, and Mandarin.
Highlights include:
- 10 a.m. – Lecture on Local Climate-Adapted Crop Varieties
- 10 a.m.–2 p.m. – Seed Swap and Free Seeds (participants are encouraged to bring seeds to share)
- 12–12:45 p.m. and 1–1:45 p.m. – Cooking Demonstrations (registration required, max 20 participants)
- 12–12:45 p.m. and 1–1:45 p.m. – Seed Saving Workshops (registration required, max 30 participants)
