On Monday, December 22, 2025, at 5:19 p.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 10400 block of O’Rourk Lane. The caller reported that her son and her father were inside the residence. When officers arrived on the scene, they located two adult males inside the home, both with apparent gunshot wounds. The decedents were identified as Charles Wagnon and Trevor Shepherd, who were related as grandfather and grandson. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene. 

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. The investigation showed Wagnon and Shepherd were in a verbal altercation which escalated into each of them shooting each other inside the residence.
