Location:  6922 Bryn Mawr Drive

Deceased:  Linda Mlsna, White female, 01/09/1941

Arrested:   Jack Moore, White male, 84 years of age

On Monday, November 18, 2024, at approximately 1:46 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to 6922 Bryn Mawr Drive for a deceased person call. Officers responded and located a deceased person and a deceased dog inside the residence. The deceased person was later identified as Linda Mlsna.

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. The initial investigation showed Ms. Mlsna’s roommate, Jack Moore, was not at the residence and his whereabouts were unknown. It was later discovered Moore had used Ms. Mlsna’s credit cards to make fraudulent purchases after her death.

APD’s Tactical Intelligence Unit along with the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Moore on an unrelated warrant. Moore was interviewed by detectives and confessed to killing Linda Mlsna and her dog, taking her credit cards, and formulating a plan to flee the country.

Moore was arrested for 1st Degree Murder and booked into the Travis County jail. No other subjects were determined to be involved and there is no further threat to the public.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Austin Police Department at 512-974-TIPS. You may submit your tip anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477.
