Location:                      6900 block of Scenic Brook Drive

Victim (Deceased):     Hispanic male, 44 years of age

Involved Subject:       White male, 57 years of age 

On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at approximately 6:40 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a Disturbance Hotshot call in the 6900 block of Scenic Brook Drive. The caller stated there had been a road rage incident resulting in an injured male in the middle of the road. When officers arrived on the scene, they located the injured male. The injured person was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, the injured person succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on Friday, April 18, 2025, at approximately 1:41 p.m.
 
Due to the ongoing investigation, we are not releasing the name of the decedent. 

At this time, no criminal charges are expected to be filed against the involved White male.
 
This is an isolated incident, and there is no danger to the public.
 
Investigators know that there are other witnesses to the incident and are requesting anyone who may have seen the incident to contact the Austin Police Department.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Austin Police Department at 512-974-TIPS. You may submit your tip anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest.

This case is being investigated as Austin's 17th homicide of 2025.
