Suspect (Arrested): Tevin Stewart, Black male, 31 years of age

On Friday, June 6, 2025, at approximately 10:28 p.m., Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) responded to the 9800 block of Halifax Drive after a 9-1-1 caller stated he needed help. When ATCEMS arrived on the scene, they spoke with the complainant, later identified as Tevin Stewart. He pointed out a victim, later identified as Warren Stewart, on the ground. ATCEMS realized the victim had been shot, and called the Austin Police Department (APD). When officers arrived on the scene, Tevin told them that he had shot the male. Warren was pronounced deceased at 11:09 p.m.
 
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. The investigation showed Tevin and Warren, who are brothers, had been living together. Tevin shot and killed Warren, and then called 9-1-1.  

Tevin was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Murder.
