On Thursday, November 28, 2024, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between two motor vehicles in the 8200 block of FM 969 Road. The driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were transported to a local hospital with serious bodily injuries.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 81st fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 86 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2023, 80 fatal crashes resulted in 83 fatalities.
