On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at approximately 10:21 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between a pickup truck and a motorcycle at the intersection of East Riverside Drive and South Pleasant Valley Road. The driver of the pickup truck remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The motorcyclist, later identified as Krishna Ghimire, was transported to a local hospital, where he died on Wednesday, April 23.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 25th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 29 fatalities. This investigation is ongoing. On the date of this crash in 2024, 24 fatal crashes resulted in 24 deaths.
