Preservation Austin Talks: Elisabet Ney Museum Reimagined

For more than 100 years Formosa has stood as an inspiring Austin landmark–

First as the home and studio of the brilliant and iconoclastic German sculptor Elisabet Ney, and now as her namesake museum that honors her multifaceted influence ranging from women's rights to honoring the natural world. Today the Elisabet Ney Museum is at the center of interconnected conversations and processes reenvisioning the site for a new generation, from a Capital Improvement Project and a landscape rehabilitation plan to new public engagement and interpretive plans. 

Join Preservation Austin for a conversation with some of the partners engaged in this undertaking, offering a behind-the-scenes look at their work and collaborations ahead of the museum’s reopening in early 2027.
