On Friday, June 20, 2025, at 2:35 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a call reporting that an individual was injured in the intersection that was possibly involved in a collision with a motor vehicle in the intersection of the 1600 block of East Ben White Boulevard SVRD EB and the 4100 block of South IH 35 SVRD NB. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. There were no motor vehicles located at the scene. At this time, this incident is being investigated as a Collision Involving Death.  

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 45th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 49 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2024, 34 fatal crashes resulted in 35 deaths.
