Overview & Goals
The Expedited Site Plan Review program is a pilot program offered by the City of Austin Development Services. Building on the existing model of Expedited Building Plan Review and Public Projects, this new pilot aims to cut site plan permitting time from 12-14 months down to just six months. It does so by providing early collaborative consultations to guide applicants through compliance, from project conception through formal site plan review, with support from a team of experienced City reviewers and the applicant’s design team.
Goals of the program:
- Reduce the number of review cycles and permitting timelines for qualifying projects
- Improve communication and transparency between applicants and City reviewers
- Provide real-time feedback and face time with reviewers
- How to Participate
-
To be eligible for Expedited Site Plan Review, the project must:
- Have a housing component OR be publicly funded projects
- Plans should be no further than 30% design
The program is best suited for projects with clear scopes and prepared design teams. Projects will be officially qualified in the Project Orientation, the initial project scoping meeting.
If you are interested in participating in the pilot complete the Expedited Site Plan Pilot Form.
