On Thursday, December 11, 2025, at approximately 6:59 p.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian in the southbound lane of the 12300 block of Dessau Road. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with officers. The pedestrian, an unidentified male, was pronounced deceased on scene.
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 87th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 91 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2024, 85 fatal crashes resulted in 90 deaths. These statements are from the initial assessment of the fatal crash, and the investigation is still pending. Fatality information may change.
