Deceased victim:  Isaiah Atkinson, Black male, 6/2/2007

On Thursday, January 1, 2026, at approximately 1:28 a.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to 7801 N. Lamar Blvd. #B148 for the call of a Shoot/Stab hotshot. The caller reported a subject had been shot in the chest. Officers arrived and located the subject, later identified as Isaiah Atkinson, with trauma to his chest. Mr. Atkinson was pronounced deceased on scene at 1:45 am.

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. The investigation showed Mr. Atkinson had attended a party at an event center in a business complex at this location. During the party, a disturbance occurred, resulting in Mr. Atkinson being shot inside of the venue.  

The investigation is still in the very early stages, but investigators believe the victim was shot by an unknown suspect who remains at large. Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance to identify any witnesses and suspects who may have attended the party at the venue. Please review any installed video surveillance systems that may have captured any video or audio of this incident. Additionally, please review any cell phone or social media videos and/or photos that may capture the moments leading up to, during, and after the shooting.
