Deceased victim: Seferino Hernandez-Perez, Hispanic male, 8/26/1985
 
On Monday, January 12, 2026, at approximately 5:27 a.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a Shots Fired call in the 1100 block of S. Meadows Drive. The caller reported a shooting across the street from his house. Officers arrived at the scene and did not locate anyone who had been involved in the shooting.
 
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to the scene and collected evidence, to include shell casings.
 
At approximately 6:08 a.m., Austin 9-1-1 received a call that reported a subject who was unconscious and not breathing at 9806 Middle Fiskville Road. This subject was found to be the victim of the earlier call on S. Meadows Dr. He was later identified as Seferino Hernandez-Perez.
