Some City pools begin charging seasonal entry fees on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
The Austin Parks and Recreation aquatic team is gearing up for the 2026 swim season. Barton Springs, Deep Eddy, Bartholomew and Springwoods pools begin charging entry fees on Saturday, March 14. Big Stacy and Colony Park pools offer free entry year-round.
Season passes are now available for purchase. These passes are valid through October 31, 2026, and include parking at Zilker Park. A season pass is the easiest way to enjoy swimming pools all season long! For more information, visit AustinTexas.gov/Pools.
Lifeguard Training and Hiring
Austin Parks and Recreation’s Aquatic Division is now recruiting and training hundreds of lifeguards starting at $22.05 per hour. Training is ongoing and there are lots of opportunities during spring break.
New and returning lifeguards must fill out job applications and complete hiring paperwork before they can register for training. Lifeguards must be 15 years of age or older. Candidates from diverse origins, orientations, identities, and abilities are welcome. Learn more at LifeguardAustin.com.
