Jamestown Neighborhood Park is an undeveloped park in north Austin. It was awarded design services by Austin Parks Foundation to help the community create a concept plan. The plan was adopted in September 2025. City Council District 4

Austin Parks and Recreation Director Jesús Aguirre approved the plan in September 2025. This plan has been adopted!

Background

Located at 8323 Jamestown Drive, between Research Boulevard and Maine Drive, the land has stood vacant since at least the 1940s. In 2021, the City of Austin acquired a 3.47-acre parcel, then expanded the park by acquiring an adjacent parcel in 2022. In 2023, the park was granted design services by Austin Parks Foundation to develop a Concept Plan for the park in collaboration with community members.

Austin Parks Foundation, in coordination with Austin Parks and Recreation, conducted community engagement to develop a concept plan to guide the future development of Jamestown Neighborhood Park.

Project Timeline

  • Winter 2023: Site inventory and analysis
  • Spring to Fall 2024: Community Engagement and Park Design Development
  • Summer 2025: Finalize concept plan, submit for PARD review and adoption
