$4.5 million in grants available through the Austin Live Music Fund

The City of Austin Economic Development Department announces $4.5 million in support through the 2024 Austin Live Music Fund. The program offers grants of $15,000 or $30,000 to Austin’s professional musicians, bands, and independent promoters, as well as $30,000 or $60,000 grants for live music venues, to support eligible promoted music activities. Grant awards may cover eligible expenses for activities aimed at attracting visiting and potential tourists, as well as convention delegates to Austin. These activities include live and online music events, studio and video production, merchandise sales, music broadcasting, and more. The application for the Austin Live Music Fund will open Tuesday, May 21 at 10 a.m. and will close on Tuesday, June 18 at 7 p.m.

“Music is not just a melody; it is the heartbeat of Austin—enriching our diverse culture and driving our presence as the Live Music Capital of the World,” explains Sylnovia Holt-Rabb, Director of the Economic Development Department. “Supporting our local music industry isn’t just an investment in entertainment; it is an investment in the soul and prosperity of our city.

Eligible "Professional Musician" and "Independent Promoter" applicants must live in the Austin-Round Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area—which includes Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties—and "Live Music Venue" applicants must be located in the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ). Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis and scored according to limited access to services, local economic impact, programming and outreach, accessibility, and past access to City of Austin support. To review the full eligibility requirements and application assistance resources, visit the Austin Live Music Fund website.

Applications for the Austin Live Music Fund can be submitted starting Tuesday, May 21, at 10 a.m. through Tuesday, June 18 at 7 p.m. Detailed eligibility requirements, application assistance, and application details are available to review at www.atxmusic.org
