Date:  December 22, 2024 at 9:48 p.m. and December 24, 2024 at 9:15 p.m.
 
Location:  600 block of Maiden Lane

Suspect:  Juvenile

Suspect:  Andre Center, Black male, 47 years of age

UPDATE: APD's Violent Crime Task Force (VCTF) arrested Andre Center and a juvenile in connection to the robbery series. Both were charged with Credit Card Abuse. Center was booked into the Travis County Jail, and the juvenile suspect was booked into the Travis-County Gardner Betts Juvenile Center.

Additional charges may be pending.

Location:   600 block of Maiden Lane
 
The Austin Police Department (APD) Robbery Unit is requesting public’s help with identifying a suspect involved in a series of Aggravated Robberies that occurred near the Hyde Park neighborhood in the 600 block of Maiden Lane. The first incident occurred on December 22, 2024, at approximately 9:48 p.m. A second robbery occurred on December 24, 2024, at approximately 9:15 pm.
 
The suspect, described below, robbed multiple female victims at gunpoint. The suspect fled on foot and was chased through the neighborhood near Maiden Lane and W 35th Street. Detectives obtained images of the suspect fleeing through the residential neighborhood.
 
APD Robbery Unit Detectives are requesting any other doorbell or surveillance videos that may have recorded the suspect fleeing through the neighborhood surrounding Maiden Lane and W 35th Street between December 22nd, 2024 at 9:45 – 10:00 pm and December 24th, 2024 at 9:15 – 9:30 pm.
 
 
The suspect is described as:

  • Black male
  • Late teens to early 20s
  • 5’5” – 5’8”
  • Medium build
  • On December 22, he was seen wearing a hoodie with a black beanie, carrying a stolen white fuzzy fanny pack, a black crescent purse, and unknown pants/shoes description
  • On December 24, he was seen wearing a black hoodie with black beanie, black or dark-color pants, and carrying a stolen red shoulder bag, and unknown shoes description
