2025 Lifeguard Hiring is Ahead of the 2024 Hiring Pace

Summer is right around the corner and the Aquatic Division of the Parks and Recreation Department is wrapping up a successful 2025 lifeguard recruiting campaign by holding its last two recruiting events from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., April 17 and May 1, at 2818 San Gabriel St.

Austin lifeguard pay starts at $21.63 per hour, making it an attractive summer or longer-term job. The Parks and Recreation Aquatic Team plans to hire several hundred new lifeguards before schools let out. 

Interested Austinites are encouraged to complete the online application before attending the event. Applicants must bring their social security card and State of Texas-issued identification. Free pizza will be served at both events!

Austin Lifeguard Hiring Events
April 17, 4–8 p.m.
May 1, 4–8 p.m.
2818 San Gabriel St.

Lifeguard training and hiring starts at age 15, and there is no age limit. Candidates from diverse origins, orientations, identities, and abilities are welcome. Learn more at LifeguardAustin.com.
