Glenn Towery Retrospective

Join us on Saturday, November 7th from 1 - 4 pm at the Old Bakery and Emporium for the opening reception of the Glenn Towery Retrospective. 

Glenn Towery is a decorated Vietnam combat veteran of the United States Navy and an award-winning screenwriter, artist, filmmaker, actor, composer, and editor. He is the founder of the Veterans Suicide Prevention Channel and is the creator of Austin Veteran Arts Festival (AVAFEST).

Glenn Towery started painting in earnest because his wife, Juanita, a highly recognized and accomplished artist, was diagnosed with cancer 20 years ago and basically stopped painting while she went through the chemo process. That's when Glenn started painting clocks. His wife loved them so much that, after she was cured, Glenn continued to paint clocks until one day he started painting on canvas. He has painted more than a hundred clocks now.

In this exhibit, you will see some of these clocks, most of which have been previously exhibited. Many of Glenn’s larger works have never been exhibited, and he is excited and proud to be able to finally have some of these larger paintings seen by the public.
