APD Detectives Request the Public's Assistance in Connection to a Shooting that Occurred on April 26

Austin Police (APD) Aggravated Assault Unit Detectives are requesting the public’s assistance with information, photos, or video evidence of the shooting that occurred on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at approximately 8:26 p.m., in the 2000 block of E 12th Street.
 
Preliminary information reveals that two male subjects were involved in a physical altercation that escalated into an exchange of gunfire, resulting in bystanders being struck.
 
At this time, six victims were treated at local hospitals for non-life-threatening gunshot injuries. Two of the victims were transported by Austin Travis County EMS and the other four self-transported. All victims are reported to be in stable condition.

One suspect, Wesley E. Brown, has been arrested and booked into the Travis County Jail. Brown is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
