APD Detectives Search for a Suspect in Connection to an Assault

The Austin Police (APD) Aggravated Assault Unit is requesting the public's assistance with identifying a suspect of an assault against a security officer.
 
On Saturday, August 1, 2026, at approximately 12:30 a.m., a male was discovered to be trespassing on the property of Huston-Tillotson University, located at 900 Chicon Street. A security officer attempted to escort the suspect off of the property, at which time the suspect physically assaulted the security officer. The security officer sustained minor injuries from the assault.
 
The suspect was seen on security camera footage after the assault.
 
The suspect is described as:

• Black male
• He was last seen wearing a dark t-shirt, blue warm up pants, dark sliders, and green socks.
