APD Detectives Search for a Suspect in Connection to Auto Theft

The Austin Police (APD) Auto Theft Unit is requesting assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an auto theft that occurred on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at approximately 1:21 a.m., in the 5200 block of E. 7th Street. Video surveillance from an apartment complex captured the suspect operating the stolen motorcycle and traveling towards 5th Street. 
 
The suspect is described as:  
 

• White male
• Early to mid 30s
• Wavy brown hair
• Medium build
• Between 6' - 6'3" tall
• Last time seen wearing a black short-sleeved t-shirt, black shorts, and white tennis shoes

The suspect vehicle is described as:
 

• SUV
• Four-door
• Possibly silver/gray

The stolen vehicle is described as: (No photos available)

• 2015
• Kawasaki ZX6R
• Black
