APD Detectives Search for a Suspect in Connection to an Auto Theft Investigation

Location: 12400 block of Mellow Meadow Drive
The Austin Police (APD) Auto Theft Unit is requesting the public’s assistance with identifying a suspect involved in an auto theft that occurred in the 12400 block of Mellow Meadow Drive.
On Sunday, August 9, at 11:30 p.m., the suspect went into the QuikTrip located at 1520 East Rundberg Lane and began stealing tobacco products. The same suspect was also seen shoplifting tobacco products at the QuikTrip located at 2723 South Lakeline Boulevard on August 14, 2026, at 4:54 a.m.
Video surveillance from both QuikTrip locations shows the suspect getting into a vehicle that was later determined to be a stolen vehicle.
The stolen vehicle is described as:
- Hyundai Veloster
- Black color
- 2016 model
- License Plate: XTJ4458
The suspect is described as:
- Black male
- 35 to 45 years of age
- Medium build
