APD Detectives Search for a Suspect in Connection to a Collision Involving Injury

The Austin Police (APD) Highway Enforcement Investigations Unit is requesting the public’s assistance with information regarding a Collision Involving Injury that occurred on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 8:10 a.m., in the 1600 block of Linscomb Avenue.

The victim was walking his dog and cat in the area when he was struck on the right side of his body by an unknown white Acura sedan that left the scene immediately after the collision. During the incident, the vehicle also struck the victim’s cat. The victim reported pain as a result of the collision. The cat was transported to an emergency veterinarian, but later died as a result of its injuries.

Ring camera footage from the area captured images of the suspect vehicle, which are included below. Detectives are asking anyone who recognizes the vehicle or has information related to the incident to contact APD.
