The Austin Police (APD) Highway Enforcement Unit is requesting the public’s help with identifying the suspect vehicle involved in a Collision Involving Serious Bodily Injury (Failure to Stop and Render Aid). Video of the crash shows a light colored small 4-door SUV or hatchback, possibly a Mazda 5.

The suspect vehicle ran the red light and struck a bicyclist ridden by an adult male, a 4-year-old juvenile, and a 3-year-old juvenile. The suspect vehicle continued to travel westbound on W Slaughter Lane after the crash.

The suspect vehicle is described as a:

Possibly an SUV or hatchback
  • Possibly a Mazda 5
  • Four doors
  • Light in color
