The Austin Police Department (APD) would like to remind all motorists to: obey the posted speed limits and drive responsibly. These roads are shared by families, commuters, cyclists, and pedestrians. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

APD has seen a rise in complaints related to speeding, reckless driving, street racing, and excessive noise along FM 2222. These dangerous behaviors not only pose serious safety risks but also impact the quality of life for nearby residents.

To address these concerns, the Austin Police Department has increased enforcement efforts in the area. Targeted operations will focus on high-complaint zones, with an emphasis on curbing speeding, street racing, noise violations, and other reckless driving behaviors.

APD will continue weekend enforcement in partnership with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). DPS Troopers will patrol on Saturdays, while APD officers will conduct active enforcement on Sundays. Additional patrols and coordinated operations may be implemented as needed to help ensure the safety of all who use our roadways.
