APD Searches for Suspect(s) in Connection to Multiple Shootings

The Austin Police (APD) is requesting the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect(s) in connection to various shootings that occurred on Saturday, May 16, 2026. 

There is no specific motive or location(s) the shootings are taking place, and they appear to be random. At this time, the investigation is ongoing, and APD asks that our community remain vigilant. If you see anything suspicious, know the whereabouts of the suspect(s), or the suspect vehicle, do not approach. Instead, call 9-1-1 immediately. 

Below are the preliminary details of the vehicle and suspect(s). 

The suspect(s) is described as:

• White or Hispanic male
• Late teens 

The suspect(s) vehicle is described as:

• Hyundai Sonata

• 2012

• Black or dark blue in color

• Right passenger window is broken

APD is asking for anyone with any information to contact the Aggravated Assault Unit at 512-974-5177. You can also submit tips anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest.
