Homicide Investigation at 8303 Empress Boulevard

Victim (Deceased):  Kristan Jeansonne, White female, 6/10/1980

Suspect (Arrested): Donald Pyle, White male, 42 years old

On Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 4:54 a.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a report of a shooting at 8303 Empress Blvd. A caller reported that a person had been shot at this residence. When officers arrived, they found the victim, Kristan Jeansonne, unresponsive with a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene at 5:11 a.m.

Detectives from the Homicide Unit, and the Austin Forensic Science Crime Specialists, responded to the crime scene. The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, Donald Pyle, shot his roommate, Kristan Jeansonne, during an altercation at their residence. Donald Pyle remained at the scene and was arrested for murder.
