Homicide Investigation in the 11700 block of Timber Heights Drive

Victim (Deceased): Tyrell Pordia, Black male 05/06/1991

Suspect (Arrested): Joitorian Bouye, Black male, 21 years of age

On Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 5:34 p.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a Shoot/Stab Hotshot call in the 11700 block of Timber Heights Drive. The caller reported that a male subject had a firearm and that someone had been shot. Witnesses reported seeing the suspect flee the scene. When officers arrived, they located the victim, later identified as Tyrell Pordia, suffering from gunshot trauma that was incompatible with life. Pordia was pronounced deceased at 5:53 p.m. Other responding officers located the suspect, later identified as Joitorian Bouye, and took him into custody without incident.

APD Homicide Detectives and Austin Forensic Science Crime Scene Specialists responded to the scene. Bouye was transported to the Homicide office and spoke with detectives. Bouye admitted to shooting Pordia. He was subsequently arrested and charged with First Degree Murder.
