Deceased victim: Michael Shelton, White male, 09/01/1951
 
On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 11:17 a.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a Check Welfare call in the 5100 block of Lambs Lane. The caller, a friend of Michael Shelton, stated that he went to check on Mr. Shelton and located him deceased. Officers arrived on the scene and located Mr. Shelton in the home with trauma to his body that was incompatible with life. Mr. Shelton was pronounced deceased on the scene at 11:29 a.m. 

APD Homicide Detectives and Austin Forensic Science Crime Scene Specialists responded to the scene. The investigation has shown that Mr. Shelton was stabbed multiple times causing his death. The suspect then fled the scene.
