Suspect (Arrested): Maximillian Salinas, Hispanic male, 20 years of age

On Monday, January 5, 2026, at approximately 6:55 a.m., Austin Police officers (APD) and Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) responded to a report of a gunshot at the Cambria Hotel, located at 68 East Avenue #824. The caller indicated that a person had been shot. When officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as Luke Bradburn, with significant injuries. Bradburn was pronounced dead on scene at 7:33 a.m.

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. The investigation revealed that earlier that day, Bradburn had driven a vehicle belonging to Salinas, which he crashed. Following the crash, Bradburn and the other occupants fled the scene and returned to the Cambria Hotel, where Salinas later shot Bradburn. 

On January 6, 2026, Salinas was arrested and charged with Murder.
