On Saturday, May 3, 2025, at approximately 2:58 a.m., the Travis County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) received a 911 call from a family reporting that their vehicle had been stolen from their driveway in the Sun Chase Neighborhood, which is located in southeast Travis County.

At approximately 3:21 a.m., the same morning, The Austin Police Department (APD) received a 911 call that reported a person was hit by a vehicle near the intersection of Ross Road and Thome Valley Drive, near Del Valle Elementary School.
 
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process multiple scenes and interview multiple witnesses. Preliminary investigation revealed that Anthony was shot, hit with a vehicle, and killed as he attempted to recover his family’s stolen vehicle near the intersection.  Furthermore, Homicide Detectives have developed several persons of interest that they are interested in speaking with. These persons can be observed on multiple cameras appearing to burglarize multiple vehicles throughout south and east Austin on Friday night into Saturday morning.

This case is being investigated as Austin's 23rd homicide of 2025.
