On Tuesday, October 13th, 2026, at approximately 8:15 p.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 10400 block of North Lamar Boulevard. The unidentified pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver remained on scene, was not found to be impaired, and is cooperating with the investigation.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 66th fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 67 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2025, 76 fatal crashes resulted in 80 deaths.
