On Sunday, May 25, 2025, at approximately 10:28 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to the 11000 block of Research Boulevard NB for a collision between a pedestrian and a motor vehicle. When officers arrived on the scene, they located the pedestrian, who was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene, was not impaired, and is cooperating with the investigation.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 37th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 41 fatalities. This investigation is ongoing. On the date of this crash in 2024, 31 fatal crashes resulted in 32 deaths.
