On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 9:48 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a collision between a motor vehicle and a pedestrian located in the 11100 block of Menchaca Road. The pedestrian, later identified as Nolen Peranton, was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the motor vehicle remained on the scene, was not impaired, and cooperated with the investigation. 

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 44th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 48 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2024, 34 fatal crashes resulted in 35 deaths.
