Traffic Fatality at 1315 Mearns Meadow Boulevard

On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at approximately 7:50 a.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to 1315 Mearns Meadow Boulevard for a motor vehicle collision. When officers arrived, they observed that a van collided with a parked trailer, located on the west curb line. The driver was the sole occupant in the van, was transported to the hospital, and later pronounced deceased. The individual has been identified as Ezequiel Diaz Lopez.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s eighth fatal crash of 2026, resulting in eight fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2025, five fatal crashes resulted in five deaths.
