On Saturday, August 16, 2025, at approximately 12:14 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a sedan and a semi-trailer truck in the 3400 block of N IH 35 SB lower deck. The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 62nd fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 66 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2024, 56 fatal crashes resulted in 60 deaths.
