On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a collision involving a single motorcycle in the 3500 block of Ed Bluestein Blvd. The rider was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas for serious injuries. He was later pronounced deceased on Friday, August 14, 2026.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 51st fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 51 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2025, 58 fatal crashes resulted in 62 deaths.
