On Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at approximately 2:24 p.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a single vehicle motorcycle collision at the 4000 block of South IH 35 Southbound on the flyover to Ben White Westbound. First responders from Austin Fire (AFD) and Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) attempted life-saving measures; however, the unidentified motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 46th fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 46 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2025, 56 fatal crashes resulted in 60 deaths.
