On Sunday, November 1, 2026, at approximately 6:44 p.m. Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a collision between a motor vehicle and a pedestrian in the 4200 block of S. Congress Avenue. The pedestrian, an unidentified Black female, was transported to the hospital and was pronounced deceased. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Olivia Mills, was arrested for DWI.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 77th fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 79 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2025, 81 fatal crashes resulted in 85 deaths.
