On Sunday, August 9, 2026, at approximately 8:50 p.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a single motorcycle collision in the 4700 block of East William Cannon Dr. Austin Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) paramedics attempted live-saving measures, but unfortunately, the unidentified motorcyclist was pronounced deceased on scene.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 49th fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 49 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2025, 60 fatal crashes resulted in 64 deaths.
