On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at approximately 4:57 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between a vehicle and a motorcycle in the 500 block of South Pleasant Valley Road. The motorcyclist, later identified as Cavione Marice Ranson, was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were not injured, the driver was not impaired, and cooperated with the investigation.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 24th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 28 fatalities. This investigation is ongoing. On the date of this crash in 2024, 24 fatal crashes resulted in 24 deaths.
