On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at approximately 5:04 p.m., Austin Police officers (APD) responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle that was heading northbound in the 5100 block of Ponciana Drive, near the intersection with Pepper Lane. The motorcyclist, later identified as Brandon Scott Brewer, was evaluated by paramedics from Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) on the scene and subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 24th fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 24 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2025, 25 fatal crashes resulted in 29 deaths.
