On Sunday, September 27, 2026, Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a single vehicle collision located in the 6600 block of Ed Bluestein Blvd, southbound lanes. The driver was pronounced deceased on scene.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 61st fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 62 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2025, 74 fatal crashes resulted in 78 deaths.
