On September 12, 2026, at 9:30 p.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a report of a person who was involved in a single motor vehicle accident at Northwest Park, located at 7000 Ardath Street. The 19-year-old male, Miles Longbine, was transported by friends to a local hospital for treatment. Longbine was pronounced deceased at 10:32 p.m. despite lifesaving efforts.

The driver, identified as 19-year-old King Anthony Henry, was determined to have been consuming alcohol prior to the incident. Henry was arrested for Driving Under the Influence – Minor. Additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 59th fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 59 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2025, 72 fatal crashes resulted in 76 deaths.
