On Friday, October 30, 2026, at approximately 9:53 p.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a collision that involved a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 7400 block of Burleson Road. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The pedestrian, an unidentified Black male, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased on October 31, 2026.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 74th fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 76 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2025, 81 fatal crashes resulted in 85 deaths.
