On Sunday, November 1, 2026, at approximately 12:20 a.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a collision that involved a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 8000 block of N IH 35 Southbound in the main lanes of travel. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The pedestrian, later identified as Gabbrielle Pousset, was pronounced deceased on scene.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 75th fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 77 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2025, 81 fatal crashes resulted in 85 deaths.
