On Sunday, April 26, 2026, at approximately 8:55 p.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a single-vehicle collision in the 9300 block of Research Boulevard Southbound. The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 26th fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 26 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2025, 27 fatal crashes resulted in 31 deaths.
