On June 30, 2026, at 9:29 p.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian on a scooter at the intersection of Airport Boulevard and Oak Springs Drive. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the motor vehicle remained at the location of the incident and cooperated with the investigation.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 41st fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 41 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2025, 48 fatal crashes resulted in 52 deaths.
