On Saturday, June 13, 2026, at approximately 4:19 p.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a collision involving an SUV and a 3-wheeled motorcycle at the intersection of Spicewood Springs Road and Shakespearean Way. Paramedics with the Austin Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) attempted life-saving measures on the biker, who was transported to a local hospital and later identified as Shannon Morris. The biker was pronounced deceased. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 38th fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 38 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2025, 43 fatal crashes resulted in 47 deaths.
